The Best Way to Put on A Wetsuit- Our Guide

So, you've decided to take the plunge and try your hand at some water sports. Good for you! But before you can ride those waves or dive into the deep blue, you need to conquer the art of putting on a wetsuit. Don't worry, we've got you covered (quite literally). Follow these simple steps to slip into your wetsuit like a pro.

Step 1: Get Your Gear Ready

Before you start wriggling into that wetsuit, make sure you have all your gear in order. You'll need your wetsuit (obviously), some lubricant (like baby shampoo or conditioner), and a towel to dry off any excess water. Oh, and don't forget to put on your best "I'm about to conquer the ocean" face.

Step 2: Lubricate, Lubricate, Lubricate

Now, here's where things get slippery (pun intended). Apply a generous amount of lubricant to the inside of your wetsuit. This will help you slide into it with ease, like a penguin sliding on ice. Just make sure you don't accidentally mistake the lubricant for your sunscreen. That could lead to some interesting tan lines.

Step 3: Start from the Bottom

When it comes to putting on a wetsuit, it's all about the bottom-up approach. Start by slipping your feet into the wetsuit legs. Think of it as trying to squeeze into your favorite pair of skinny jeans after a big meal. It may take some wiggling and shimmying, but you'll get there.

Step 4: Inch by Inch

Once your feet are snugly in place, it's time to work your way up. Slowly inch your way into the wetsuit, pulling it up bit by bit. It's like trying to put on a second skin, except this one is made of neoprene and not, well, skin. Take your time and make sure everything is in its rightful place.

Step 5: The Arm Wrestle

Now comes the tricky part: getting your arms through those sleeves. It's like an arm wrestle with your wetsuit, and you're determined to win. Start by pulling one arm through, then the other. If you're feeling a bit stuck, don't panic. Take a deep breath, channel your inner superhero, and give it another go. You've got this!

Step 6: Seal the Deal

Once you've conquered the arm wrestle, it's time to seal the deal. Make sure the wetsuit is snug around your neck, wrists, and ankles. You don't want any unwanted water sneaking in and ruining your aquatic adventure. Give yourself a quick once-over in the mirror to make sure everything looks shipshape.

Step 7: Dive In and Enjoy

Congratulations! You've successfully put on your wetsuit and you're ready to take on the water. Now go out there, ride those waves, and make a splash. Just remember, if you ever need a hand taking off that wetsuit, we'll be here to lend a helping hand (or a bottle of lubricant). Happy diving!
